MacFarlane Does the Flintstones

Seth MacFarlane is getting into the Flintstones business. He’s is developing a reboot of the “modern Stone Age family” updating them for the 21st century.

Fox Entertainment chief Kevin Reilly said "Fox has long been home to iconic families like the Simpsons and the Griffins, so I have no doubt that the Flintstones and the Rubbles are going to fit right in on our air,"

I have just a few concerns about this:
  • Will Fred’s iconic phase "yabba dabba doo!" become yabba dabba giggity goo?
  • Will Wilma become a drug abusing, meth addicted kleptomaniac, with a gambling problem?
  • Will Bamm Bamm develop a  homicidal hatred of his mother and be somewhat uncertain of his sexual orientation
  • Can’t you just see Dino, the Flintstone’s pet dinosaur, as a gin swilling, pot smoking wanna be author?

And what of Pebbles and Betty…

Giggity, giggity, gig-gig-ity
Meheheha

I’m sure Alan Reed is spinning in his grave, right along with Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera

A question... has Hollywood's reboot mania gotten out of hand?
